Want a fun way to bring some excitement to the winter doldrums?

Celebrate Chocolate Cake Day on January 27 with our favorite simple chocolate cake recipe.

Celebrating random holidays is one of our family's favorite ways to bring some fun and excitement into ordinary days. Whether we just celebrate as a family or make it a party and invite all their friends, it is something my kids have enjoyed at all ages.

Simple traditions like this are a great way to connect as a family when you have teens. Check out these podcast episodes for more ideas to create family traditions your teens will love and the secrets to a strong family bond

NOW...let's talk about chocolate cake! Before I share our favorite chocolate cake recipe, you should know that most chocolate cake is too rich for me. This is not the cake to make if you are looking for something rich and decadent, but it is delicious, chocolatey and super simple to make!

Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake

Ingredients:

1 box yellow cake mix

1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix

3/4 cup vegetable oil

3/4 cup water

4 large eggs

1 cup plain greek yogurt or sour cream

1 cup milk-chocolate chips

Directions:

Combine cake and pudding mixes.

Add oil, water, eggs and greek yogurt or sour cream and mix.

Stir in chocolate chips.

Pour into a greased/floured bundt pan and bake at 350 for 70 minutes.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar or drizzle some melted chocolate over the top.
